China's steel products, metal products, application technologies and metallurgical equipment are highly competitive in the Vietnamese and ASEAN markets. According to the forecast of Vietnam Steel Corporation, Vietnam's steel demand will be about -10,000 tons by 2020.
It can be seen that Vietnam's steel demand has grown higher than expected, but Vietnam's domestic steel is far from meeting the growing market demand. At the same time, due to technical reasons, Vietnam's demand for high-quality steel mainly relies on imports. In response to the growing demand for steel products in the Vietnamese market, Chinese steel and metallurgical product companies have given full play to their own advantages and worked hard to develop emerging export markets. Currently, Vietnam has become China's second largest steel exporter, and the export volume is growing steadily. According to data, Vietnam is China's second largest steel export destination. In 2017, Vietnam's steel imports from China accounted for about half of Southeast Asia's total imports from China.
